The design of the pens by Achim velte clearly can be traced back to the
Art deco era - in times when classical ornamental shapes (meander and rectangular) were used for objects of jewelry and accessoires.
The era of Art Deco (1920–1940)
Art Deco is the abbreviation of the French term "art decorative" (dekorative art). In fact this was the name of the first international exhibition of objects categorized as Art deco - "Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modérnes" in Paris.
Ever since the Neolithic times (later part of the Stone Age), meander was known as a rectangular and wave-shaped ornament owing its name to the natural meander shapes of landscapes naturally formed by rivers.
